On Friday, May 8, my husband and I had a Russian steam bath ritual with Svetlana that lasted two and a half hours. It was truly an unforgettable experience. Svetlana is not only an outstanding massage therapist and bath master, but also a true magician in what she does. Her work is not only about improving circulation and balancing the nervous system — it is also about harmonizing your feelings, emotions, and overall sense of well-being. The whole steaming experience felt incredibly comfortable and easy because of her high level of professionalism and expertise in the traditional Russian steam bath. You simply relax, enjoy, heal, and completely lose track of time. The session went by so quickly because we were enjoying every moment of it. Thank you so much, Svetlana, for this amazing experience!

I thought the highlight of this spa would be the facilities—and honestly, they’re already a standout. The combination of steam room, sauna, that invigorating cold bucket plunge, and the Himalayan salt room creates this perfect circuit where you can relax, reset, and actually feel your body unwind. Add in the loungers for a proper wind-down, and it feels like a full escape without having to leave town. Everything is incredibly clean and clearly well cared for—the staff are constantly maintaining the space, which makes it feel fresh, calm, and comfortable the entire time you’re there. Even the lounge where you wait for your treatment is thoughtfully done—inviting, cozy, and relaxing, with hot teas, fruit-infused waters, and little treats that make it feel like the experience starts the moment you walk in. But the real surprise? Booking the chamomile body scrub with Maria. That treatment completely elevated the experience. It felt like a full seasonal reset. Maria has this calm, intuitive approach that makes you relax almost instantly, and the chamomile scrub left my skin incredibly soft, refreshed, and genuinely glowing. It’s the kind of treatment that makes you realize how much your skin needed it. If you’re coming out of winter and thinking about summer (which suddenly feels very close), this is exactly the kind of refresh your body will thank you for. The facilities draw you in, but that chamomile scrub is what will have you planning your next visit before you’ve even left.

We had an exceptional experience with the Russian Banya Ritual at the Art of Sauna in Burnaby—my husband and I both left feeling completely renewed. From start to finish, the ritual was thoughtfully curated and deeply restorative. Svetlana is an outstanding practitioner: highly skilled, intuitive, and fully present throughout the entire session. Her command of traditional techniques, combined with a refined sensitivity to pacing and comfort, made the experience feel both authentic and personal. There was an excellent balance between the high-heat environment, intentional cooling breaks, and the invigorating challenge of the cold bucket, which was both refreshing and energizing. Every detail was handled with care: the heat cycles, the precise use of the oak branches, the seamless transitions, and the overall flow of the ritual. The drum ritual added a powerful, grounding dimension that elevated the experience well beyond a standard sauna session. The sea buckthorn tea was a perfect finishing touch—warming, nourishing, and beautifully timed. What truly sets this ritual apart is the level of service and energy Svetlana brings. Her calm focus, attentiveness, and respect for the tradition create a sense of trust and immersion that is rare. This was not just a sauna visit, but a complete mind-body reset for both of us. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic Russian banya experience delivered at an exceptional standard.

I recently visited Art of Sauna and had a very pleasant experience overall. The space is spacious, well organized, and offers a wide variety of sauna options, including a Russian banya, eucalyptus sauna, dry sauna, salt room, and a few other sauna experiences that I don’t remember by name. The variety really makes it feel like a full wellness destination rather than just a sauna. The facility is very clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Everything feels well maintained, and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. The staff are extremely polite, professional, and attentive, which makes the experience even better. One highlight worth mentioning is the Russian banya experience. You can book an additional experience treatment with traditional Russian venik (birch broom) steaming. It is available for an extra fee, but as a unique wellness experience, it’s a lovely and worthwhile addition, especially for those who want to try something authentic. The only small improvement I would suggest is providing slippers and bathrobes for guests. That said, there is a very generous supply of towels available, so there is absolutely no need to bring your own. Another nice touch is the wide selection of skincare products displayed in the reception area, which adds to the overall spa and wellness atmosphere. Overall, this is a wonderful place to relax, unwind, and recharge. I would definitely visit again.
