BIWON Korean Restaurant

Had the hot pot at BIWON and it was a really pleasant experience from start to finish. The broth was well-developed and flavourful without being overwhelming, and the ingredients were fresh and generously portioned. The banchan on the side were a nice complement to the meal. The space is comfortable and unhurried — the kind of place where you can actually relax and enjoy your food. Staff were friendly and attentive without making you feel rushed. Solid, honest Korean cooking. Will definitely be back.

The smell of the food from outside the restaurant drew me in, and I’m so glad it did! The food arrived hot, fresh, and quickly. The service was stellar, Minjay and Chuni (apologies if I’ve misspelled their names) were both incredibly welcoming and attentive, making the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back and will be recommending this place to my friends. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We came here late on a Friday night and overall had a really good experience. The food was definitely the highlight, every single dish we tried tasted amazing and came out steaming hot. The dumplings were especially great, and the portion sizes were very generous. Honestly, the taste alone makes this place worth coming back to. That said, a few things could be better. The ambience was just okay, music was quite loud, there was even an alarm sound at one point, and the vibe wasn’t super cozy. Cleanliness was also average; a couple of dishes had some visible stains, which wasn’t the best first impression. The washroom setup was a little awkward too, pretty cramped and hard to close the door. Service started off a bit slow since the place seemed understaffed, there was only one middle-aged lady handling everything on her own. But she was incredibly kind and friendly, which made up for it. She explained things clearly once we got her attention, offered us complimentary side dishes, and even gave us a 10% discount at the end. That kind of hospitality goes a long way. All in all, the food was outstanding, the portions were big, and the service, despite being stretched, was very warm and thoughtful. I’d definitely come back and recommend it, especially if you’re here for the food more than the atmosphere.

The owner of this place is extremely kind and the food is suchhhh a good deal for the portions and quality. They also have a self serve bar where you can get your own side dishes, plus yakult!! The food is super filling and hearty, and it will satisfy all of your cravings. Last year when I came, I found a piece of plastic that had mistakenly fallen into my bowl and the owner gave me the meal for free and also added free gyozas which was so generous. It’s also open until 2 am which is crazy and super convenient. I recommend this place to Eveyrone.

My go-to for a quick bite in the downtown area. Fast, efficient, and lovely service from the staff as always. It hits the spot and gives off that local mom'n'pop shop feel. Comfortable and still relatively affordable compared to the rest of the city. Banchans are unlimited which is always a bonus and pairs wonderfully with their entrees. You just place your main order first and then go to the self-serve counter to help yourself.
