Candy Cafe

Would give 0star if it is an option. We visited this café planning to share some desserts with friends. When we were seated, no one informed us that there was a rule requiring each person to order an item. When we placed our order for two desserts, the staff member also did not mention anything about a per-person minimum charge, and we clearly said we were sharing. While we were waiting, a senior staff member (possibly the owner) approached us and said we were “missing two more items”. Even at that moment, the rule was still not explained. Only when he came back the second time and we directly asked, he finally said that each person must order something. At the end 2 of us left the cafe. We fully understand if a cafe is busy or full, and we would never occupy seats without ordering. But at the time, the shop was less than one-third full. What made the situation more confusing was that the table next to us, a group of six foreign customers, had only ordered three drinks and were allowed to stay with no issue. This inconsistency made us feel that the policy was not applied equally, which left us quite uncomfortable as Asian customers. Clear communication and consistent policy application would have made the experience much better.

First time trying anything like this and it's been hard to find outside of this shop since but it was delicious. Like a warm hug that hit the spot. Good thing I live far or I'd be there every day

I am very disappointed in this cafe. This is me and my fiancée's favourite place. I used to vouch for it as a returning customer and constantly raved about how delicious the food is and how good the drinks are. I have been going here since before they even built the second upstairs part and there was just plain brown seating and barely any customers. No decorations or anything but what kept me returning was the service and the quality of food. Recently we decided to come back and take our online friend there to let him try it. However, the service and the food has completely went to sh*t. We ordered an apple bubble tea and a passionfruit bubble tea and a plate of gyoza, spring rolls and popcorn chicken and our friend ordered a fizz drink and noodles and gyoza. The gyoza was warm at best, not even hot. Usually, it's always been hot. The drinks were tasteless and the straws didn't even work on the bubbles, they just kept getting stuck. The spring rolls were also just warm. The popcorn chicken was the only thing that was hot. We ordered our bubble tea to have 100% sugar and before it used to be perfectly sweet and now this time it didn't have any sweetness. Our friend also was not a fan of his noodles or anything. The woman serving us was quite rude, not even smiling. I am also aware of the fact that the owner ab*ses his staff verbally.

Confused by the 1 star reviews because the service we received was great! Friendly staff and the perfect dessert for my cravings. I was craving a specific Filipino dessert (gulaman) that I find nearly impossible to find here, but this place provides the niche Asian desserts that I love! I ordered the Malaysian cha cha which was delicious and I’ll definitely be returning to try others! Thank you !!

Went today with a friend! It was a chill Monday and we enjoyed some sweets. Service was quick and the ladies at the tills were nice! Some people complained that one item has to be ordered per person in some reviews.. but it makes sense! The place is small and if you occupy space without ordering anything it’s honestly a loss for the owner and consequently, for the staff. A bit of empathy towards small business owners nowadays would be nice! I will surely come back 💓
