What locals say
I visited Cosme Tokyo 7-dec afternoon and was impressed by how complete and well-organized the store is — they have almost everything. But it was super crowded and little bit overstimulated. However, I had a disappointing experience with one of the staff members. I was looking for a Shu Uemura eyelash curler, which was displayed right next to the MAC section. Since I didn’t see any Shu Uemura staff around, I approached the MAC sales assistant and politely said, “Excuse me, can you help me please?” I then asked about the eyelash curler, but she immediately refused in a very rude and unfriendly manner. She said something in Japanese that I didn’t understand, and my friend who speaks Japanese told me she said she’s “not the staff for that,” but in a tone that was considered quite rude even by Japanese standards. It was surprising and disappointing to be treated that way, especially in Japan where customer service is usually excellent. I hope the management can improve staff training so customers don’t feel dismissed or disrespected.
Great selection of products, good variety, and it's so useful to see which products have been recommended by the staff and which ones are top sellers in Tokyo. I loved shopping there - but the cashier was really rude (talking with her coworker and laughing after looking at me! it felt horrible).
Great range of products; even have limited edition Tokyo-exclusive products of different brands (e.g Lululun). Insanely crowded every day; difficult to navigate the store or have space to peruse the products. Staff seemed uninterested in helping you or very unknowledgable about products. The best cosmetics award section is terrible: products are either not reachable or not available, with no information card to translate labels of Japanese products.
Visited this Harajuku location today and had a very poor experience at checkout. The cashier (name tag: 「レ氵担当」) was extremely impatient. During the tax-free process, my passport was handled very roughly and was almost damaged. This is unacceptable, as a passport is an important personal document. I understand the store can be busy, but basic care and professionalism should never be compromised. Based on other reviews, this does not seem to be an isolated incident. Would not recommend this location due to the service.
It’s one of the best places—-🤘 Not only because of its exclusive collection, but also due to its affordable price, convenient location and overall accessibility. You can enjoy an excellent shopping experience in a truly exceptional environment. Customers from all over the world visit here, and you can hear many different languages being spoken. I was also very satisfied with customer service. Although it is quite crowded, the overall experience is still wonderful. Access: it sits right outside HARAJUKU STATION
