What locals say
I’m a huge fan of Korean spas (jimjilbang 찜질방). While it might not be the as flashy as other options in ktown, this is not to be missed. It’s located inside a mall and is on the third floor. I know these places can feel intimidating if you’ve never been before, but don’t let it stop you! The women at the front will walk you through and tell you everything you need to know to enjoy the facility. And honestly if you end up confused, pretty much anyone there will help you out too, very communal feeling. This place has all the basic amenities needed and the price is right. I got the Gold Special, a two hour service that includes a body scrub, hair treatment, and a lovely massage. Make sure to bring cash to tip your person. The whole spa facility was clean and wasn’t overly crowded like some other places are which was so nice as I went on a Saturday. The food in the cafe was incredible, and I really recommend you try the Korean rice drink as it’s perfectly sweet and cold. Lastly, make sure to park in the parking structure that is outlined in blue as you’ll get 6 hours included parking on P2. Don’t make the mistake I did and park in the structure next door, they’re expensive.
Clean. Many different rooms. Helpful and friendly staff. Anne gave me the best massage and scrub I’ve had in my life. Coming from someone who’s even had many professional therapeutic massages in my life. She’s great. Highly recommended, but I would definitely go back to her.
I’ve been a long-time customer of this place. My husband and I went twice a month at least. This place is no frills so if you’re looking for a “nice” spa, this is more functional than aesthetic. This worked for us but after my last experience, I don’t think I’ll be returning. We spent $300 for two scrubs + massage. We are great tippers, the staff recognize us at this point. After our service my husband was calling and rushing me out after 3 hours there and I accidentally put a small face towel in my bag. Completely honest mistake but the manager said “you steal my towel” instead of just “you have my towel”. If I was stealing it, I would’ve hid it properly. I apologized and said it was an honest mistake. I even let her look in my bag to confirm I didn’t have anything else. Another customer even told her “why would she want a dirty towel?” because she was being so rude. The women working the front desk tried to laugh it off because they knew we were loyal customers and she was being so accusatory and rude. Even after she saw I had nothing she looked at me like I’m a thief. Overall just so rude, so uncomfortable and ungrateful. We have a business too and I’d never treat a loyal customer like that. Is a stupid face towel worth loosing a great customer? I’d just spent $350 there. They honestly need to check this manager or whoever she was and tell the staff they need to work on customer service. They never smile, or seem welcoming. I get that this is an affordable spa but it cost nothing to be kind and warm.
I received a traumatic massage from a male massage therapist two weeks ago. It was so painful and agressive I felt crushed and couldn’t breathe let alone have a chance to say stop. When I did let out a sound of pain he actually laughed. During the massage he barely used his hands which I found so unusual. He dragged his arm all over my back for most of the time and getting so aggressive with the pressure I could barely take shallow breaths. And he was agressive with my spine too. I was scared something in my body was going to break. It almost felt like he was trying really hard to hurt me and make me uncomfortable. Since then I have been having serious trouble falling asleep and elevated heart rate almost every night. It has resulted in a serious insomnia issue which is completely opposite of what I wanted out of a massage. Instead of making me feel relaxed it caused me health issues.
I had such a great experience at Crystal Korean Spa in Los Angeles! I got both a massage and a body scrub, and honestly, I left feeling like a completely new person. The body scrub was super thorough and left my skin incredibly smooth, and the massage was relaxing and exactly what I needed. The staff were professional and made me feel comfortable the whole time. I love using the rooms after as well. Definitely coming back!
