Great quality of meat and fast service. They offer combos and a la carte options, which worked well for us since we didn't want to feel super stuffed. Happy hour deals and extra drinks with combos are appreciated as well. The short ribs especially were delicious! We'll come back for sure.
Had a Saturday evening happy hour reservation. Gluten free friendly menu - they gave me a flight of gluten free sauces! Fast and friendly seating, knowledgeable tutorials on the barbecue use and the Spicy pork is a must! Pair with rice dipped in a little of their sweet sow sauce and you are singin with joy. We shared garlic edamame as a starter and I absolutely dove into that too. Perfect interactive date night spot, and would be aces with a group of 4 too. One star off for service because it took a little bit to get our bill to head out - but understandable because it was during what I imagine was the shift changeover.
Gyu-Kaku is by far the best Japanese cuisine you can find in Toronto. Portions were huge, we had the chefs choice for 2 people and were served with so much food we couldn’t handle it all. Our wonderful server Laura gave us the best service I’ve ever had dining in Toronto, I wish she could serve us everywhere we go. First tried this restaurant in Hawaii, and was amazed at how flavourful everything was. It has been 4 years since I’ve eaten here, and it’s even better than I remember. 10/10 will be eating here again, and cannot recommend this place enough.
Really enjoyed this place! The harami in the secret pot was especially good. It was super juicy and the sauce was great. The gyu sushi was also really tasty, especially with wasabi. Very soft. The vibe is nice too, more like a bar than a typical BBQ spot, and the staff were very friendly. My bf also really liked it!
The best Japanese BBQ I’ve had when it comes to quality. Came here for my anniversary and got a bundle package that comes with pre selected meats and sides. Everything was REALLY good. My favourite side was the Gyu-Kaku Salad. If you want a super delicious and refreshing drink with your meal I can’t recommend the Melon Soda enough, I was tempted to get two. And of course all the meats were great. Oh and the smores at the end was a fun dessert to have. Highly recommend.
