H Mart New Malden

H Mart is a US-based grocery store, which sells mainly Korean products. It's not surprising that the company has its only UK branch in New Malden, given that there is a large Korean population who live nearby. The shop is really big, with lots of Korean food products, including fresh and frozen. There are also products from many other Asian countries, such as China, Japan and Indonesia. In addition to food, there are lots of other items on sale, including K-pop CDs and magazines, electrical items, homeware and kitchenware. The shop is absolutely packed full of products, which can sometimes make it a bit hard to find what you're looking for, but staff are always happy to help. I can easily spend many hours browsing in here. There are also great special offers throughout the shop, which is a great way to try something you eaten before. There is a large car park, which is free for customers, although it does get very busy at times. The shop does not have any self-service tills, but there are usually quite a lot of staffed tills open, so the service is pretty fast. If you're looking for Asian products, particularly Korean, you will almost certainly find it here. It's a fantastic shop and a really fun place to buy interesting products, many of which you would struggle to find outside of Korea. The shop feels like a really authentic place, as though you're really in Korea! Wherever you live, it's worth visiting, to experience the excellent atmosphere!

Whether you’re Korean, Asian, or just food-curious, this is a must-visit destination. It genuinely feels like you’ve stepped into a big Seoul or Busan mart. Even if you live an hour away, make the pilgrimage at least once – you’ll leave with a full trolley and a very happy stomach. Worth every minute of the journey. Absolute gem!

This is the supermarket in the UK that has the most complete selection of Korean food. I love buying jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) here. It also sells a wide variety of Korean cooking utensils, such as stone pots and metal saucepans.

This is a great Korean supermarket with a wide selection of products. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The only downside is that the aisles are quite narrow, so it can feel a bit crowded and uncomfortable during peak hours. Overall, it's still a great place to shop.

They stock a huge range: kimchi, gochujang, Korean seasonings, sweet potato vermicelli, rice cakes, Korean fried chicken, instant noodles, dumplings, snacks, and drinks. There are also Korean household items and stationery available. Beyond Korean products, you can find Japanese, Taiwanese, Chinese, and other Asian groceries as well. Prices are slightly on the higher side, but the convenience and variety make it worthwhile. Whether you’re cooking army stew, Korean beef short ribs, or Korean BBQ, you can find everything you need in one trip without having to shop around. Highly recommended for anyone serious about Korean cooking.
