Groceries in New York.
What locals say
Not the cleanest place, but definitely among the best places to get whatever you need for Asian cooking at a really good price. Fresh fish and seafood market, vegetables, meats, frozen meals, all kinds of spices, snacks, boxed items and even cutlery and cooking utensils. Much cheaper than h Mart. If you don't mind a less clean supermarket, definitely recommend. They also have a good selection of different brands for most products and some typical staples like pasta, cereal cookies etc.
If you are a fan of exotic foods and looking for a unique culinary experience, the "Hong Kong" supermarket in New York is definitely worth a visit. The store offers an impressive selection of Asian products, including rare fruits and vegetables that are hard to find in regular supermarkets. The variety is remarkable – you will find tropical fruits, exotic vegetables, and unique spices suitable for a wide range of Asian cuisines. Additionally, there is a rich selection of ready-to-eat foods, authentic sauces, and essential ingredients for traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cooking. The store is well-organized, making it easy to navigate, although it can get a bit crowded, especially during peak hours. Prices vary – some items may be slightly more expensive compared to regular supermarkets, but given their quality and uniqueness, the shopping experience is well worth it. In summary, "Hong Kong" is a must-visit destination for anyone who enjoys exploring new flavors and discovering high-quality Asian products. If you are looking to try something new or bring a taste of Asian cuisine home, this is the place for you.
This place has almost everything. Food and seafood and vegetables and fruit and snacks and dairy and produce and meat and candy. The only thing that I would say is, it would be great if they were a little bit cleaner and it smells fresh. But this chain of groceries provide provides a lot of groceries for the community and Taurus alike because they have so many things that they sell here. It’s best not to drive a car because it’s such a hassle. You should be taking a subway or biking around to get here. It has 2 floors! Huge.
I really love this supermarket. Unfortunately they increased their ground beef and pork butt prices a lot. Beef is priced 33% more since I was last here in December which was quite a shock. $4/lb to $6. Ground pork butt but used to be just 20 or 30 cents more than regular but now it’s like double. I think it said almost $4 too 😢 which is quite sad as I relied on their affordability
Most prices at supermarkets in Chinatown are cheaper than at Fresh Fresh supermarkets. I like fresh produce mainly because fruits, vegetables, and seafood are cheaper. For daily necessities, seasonings, and snacks, I still prefer to buy them at supermarkets in Hong Kong. The main site is large and includes an underground city.
