Had a great dining experience at I’m Kim BBQ. The food variety was impressive, with plenty of options to choose from and everything was fresh and enjoyable. The atmosphere was lively, making it a nice place to gather with family and friends. One suggestion for improvement would be to provide aprons for diners, as BBQ can get a little messy and aprons would help protect clothing. Overall, a satisfying experience and I would visit again.

Food is amazing! Lots of choices and taste is good especially the soup! Service is good except for Mr Jomar. Not courteous, and not interested in being courteous to the customers. Just snatched the cash right out of my hands. Did not smile at all. Just because we had a delay in payment, does not mean you can pull a long face and behave in such a way as a front liner. We are here as tourists, should be more understanding. Other than that, it is great!

Absolutely amazing experience! The meat here is incredibly fresh, high-quality, and packed with flavor. On top of that, the buffet offers a fantastic variety of dishes that are not only delicious but also beautifully presented and clean. My family fell in love with this place, and it’s definitely going to be our go-to spot during our trip. We will be coming back very often! Highly recommended!

Our multiple visits to this establishment have yielded consistently positive experiences that surpass our expectations. The lunch offerings provide good value, with a variety of choices including beef, pork, chicken, and several side dishes featuring carbohydrates and vegetables. Although the sliced pork was somewhat tough, the meats were generally tender. The dishes showcased a good balance of flavors, ranging from spicy to sweet. The dessert selection was also commendable. The mushroom soup and japchae are my favourites. The staff were courteous, efficient, and attentive to customer needs. While the lack of effective ventilation resulted in a smoky smell clinging to clothing, the overall quality makes the price reasonable.

The Verdict: No-Frills, Budget-Friendly Volume Located right at the School of the Arts (SOTA), I am Kim Korean BBQ targets a very specific niche: high-volume, budget-friendly dining. It trading premium, artisanal cuts of meat for maximum accessibility and a lively, unpretentious atmosphere. Key Highlights Value Proposition: Weekday lunch buffets sit under $20++ (around $18.90++), while weekend dinners scale to just under $30++. For a central Dhoby Ghaut location, the price-to-volume ratio is incredibly tough to beat. The Spread: The buffet features basic marinated proteins such as pork belly, beef short ribs, ribeye, and volcano chicken. A major draw is their cooked food counter, particularly their signature crispy fried chicken wings, *tteokbokki* (spicy rice cakes), and kimchi fried rice, which help tide you over while the hotplate heats up. Operational Limits: To maintain these margins, a minimum of 2 paying diners is strictly required to secure a table, and dining is capped at a strict **90-minute limit (which extends slightly to 110 minutes for groups of 5 or more during dinner). ## Strategic Considerations Meat Quality: The proteins are thin-cut to facilitate rapid cooking and heavily marinated to ensure consistent flavor. If you are looking for highly marbled, unmarinated premium cuts or table-side service, this is not that establishment. The Atmosphere: The layout is high-density and highly energetic. Between the sizzling hotplates and the crowds, it gets incredibly loud during peak weekend shifts. Summary Recommendation Go if: You want a casual, high-volume, highly affordable K-BBQ session with a group or a friend in a highly central location. Skip if: You are seeking an intimate date spot, premium unmarinated meats, or a relaxed dining pace without a hard time limit.
