First time here and the place has a cool vibe. We didn’t have to wait for a table which was a plus. We ordered the spicy stir fried octopus, prime marinated kalbi, and the pork platter. The meats were fresh and tasted delicious though the kalbi and pork platter felt a bit overpriced. Total came out around $250. For the price, I expected rice to be included but it wasn’t. The servers were somewhat attentive but not very friendly. We asked to change the pork platter to a large pork platter within less than five minutes of ordering but were told it was too late to make the change. Since the food hadn’t been prepared yet, we didn’t understand why they couldn't make a change. I also wish they offered more individual pork options as the selection felt very limited. Overall, it was an okay experience but I’d likely try other places before coming back.
Loved Jongro BBQ so much had to return for a second experience. Completely nonchalant entrance to a tiny elevator that works more like a teleportation device, opening up to floors bursting from the seams with dinner goers. Loud, boisterous, food and family / friends focused eatery. Lots of selection on the menu, primarily focused around fresh sliced frozen meats that go on a barbecue at your table. Helpful staff progressed our meal from one stage to the next. Great for get togethers, conversations over food, show diners.
kbbq lovers need to check out jongro for top tier meat, fun vibes, and amazing service. the best part is their tuesday deal where you get 25% off your total order if you wear a red or white tracksuit because who doesn’t love a good deal. the meat quality here is seriously impressive, super fresh and tender with every bite. the servers are also incredibly attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. my fav side dishes were the cheese corn and steamed egg, both cooked on the side burner right next to you so you know it’s piping hot and fresh. they also offer a really solid lunch special with their pork cutlet, perfect if you want a great meal at a great price. don’t forget to check out their andong soju as well; it’s perfect for a night out with friends!
The beef intestines here are quite good. The last time I came with four people, we couldn’t finish everything because it gets filling pretty quickly. The kimchi soup was decent, and my favorite dish was the steamed eggs. The service was good and stable, and the beef dish shown in the photo that I ordered was also very delicious.
Jongro BBQ offers an authentic Korean BBQ experience right in the middle of Koreatown. The atmosphere is lively, energetic, and unmistakably authentic — the kind of place where the sounds, aromas, and busy environment are part of the experience. It may not be a quiet or refined dining setting, but that is exactly what gives Jongro BBQ its unique character and charm. The food was excellent, with flavorful dishes and high-quality ingredients that showcase the strengths of Korean barbecue. The combination of grilling at the table, fresh ingredients, and traditional flavors creates an enjoyable and memorable dining experience. A special highlight was the service. Our waiter was remarkable — he managed to remember everything without writing anything down, which was genuinely impressive considering the number of dishes, requests, and details involved. His attention, experience, and efficiency showed a high level of professionalism and contributed significantly to the smooth flow of the evening. Despite the busy environment, everything was very well organized. The staff handled the fast pace effortlessly, and the entire operation ran smoothly. The energy of the restaurant, combined with the quality of the food and the excellent service, made the visit feel like a true Korean BBQ experience. Overall, Jongro BBQ is highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic Korean BBQ restaurant in New York City. The lively atmosphere, delicious food, impressive service, and efficient organization make it a standout destination in Koreatown.
