Disappointed ! Here are the reasons why the public onsen is not recommended. 1) Shoe shelf is not lockable. Any customer can take the wrong pair of shoe away. 2) Pricey, premises not big enough, a bit run down and not well maintained. Not atas enough at this price. 3) Yukata not provided at this price. Have to pay extra. Inconvenience to go cafe for food without yukata. 4) Only one share toilet outside the onsen zone. No toilet in the onsen zone. So if you urgently need to go, you need to shower, towel dry, wear your clothes and use the toilet. Super inconvenient. 5) Men locker room very cramp. 6) Vanity desk look dirty and unhygienic. No tissue paper provided 7) No water cooler. Only a drinking tap. Look unhygienic too. 8) Some open shower cubicle shampoo conditioner holder was broken. Bottle of shampoo and conditioner lying on the floor. It’s slippery and I almost fell. 9) Layout of the onsen pool is bad. The sidewalk too narrow and difficult to walk. May slip into the onsen pool. 10) Onsen water too hot. I think it’s 41 degree. In SG, hot environment should lower down to 39 degree. It’s skin burning. The onsen water is just plain hot water. No onsen minerals and salt added inside which means it’s not therapeutic. 11) Cold pool tuck at one corner. Too small. 12) Weird round concrete table with stool inside the onsen pool does not have Japanese vibe. It’s an eye sore. Who design this ? Poor taste. It looks like olden days Chinese chess table at HDB void deck. 13) The sauna has poor layout. The door position is at the pool side. To enter, one need to walk in the onsen pool to reach the door. It’s mixing wet and dry surface together. It’s slippery in the pool. Worst is the sauna has glass door. Once slip and crash into the glass door, someone gonna get cut by the glass door. It’s a hazard. Who design this ? Another issue is no privacy in the sauna. The side glass is transparent. People from outside can view through. 14) No steam room facility at this price. 15) There are a few benches lying around. The longer wooden bench has rough wood finishes on the seat top plank. It cut my skin. The smaller useless metal bench are too low to be seated comfortably. 16) it’s a welcome that disposable underwear are provided. But isn’t onsen rule to be fully naked ? I saw someone wearing the disposable underwear soaking inside the pool. Also saw someone with either his own underwear or swimming trunk soaking in the onsen pool. That’s not the culture. It’s unhygienic. Maybe Joya should brief the guest at the counter that it’s a full naked onsen before letting them in. 17) The men locker key is pink in color. It’s awful. Why can’t it be in blue, navy or black color ? The only positive thing is the sun deck lounge which is comfortable and relaxing to sleep on.

The onsen is ok as long as you dont compare it to Japan. We booked the private onsen and while it was an interesting experience, it was a once and done for us. We had the smaller private onsen and the room is really small, no place for walking about or even resting. The place is also quite stuffy. Understand the limits of the space but a small bench to rest would have been good and also a cold bath.

Had a really great experience here! The boss and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The onsen was relaxing and well maintained. The Japanese food was also really good and very affordable. They even have a solid $2 oyster promo for oyster lovers. Definitely worth dropping by!

I recently booked the private onsen and was not disappointed. I like how they included the public onsen, food and yukata along with it. Although I have to agree that the premise for the onsen feels a little run down, and the toilet is quite inconvenient since it is outside the onsen zone, but at least it's clean. The food was surprisingly good and I really like the Black Truffle Beef Steak don. As for the price for the private onsen, it's quite pricey for the small premise but I'll take it for the privacy. And, in my opinion, the public onsen is big and good enough. Offering disposable undergarments was a nice touch as well. Lastly, I find the onsen water really too hot.

Small and tranquil onsen place in the west of SG. There are 2 onsen pools in the male onsen - 1 big hot pool and 1 small cold pool. The temperature of the hot pool is fine and bearable, but I feel the cold pool could be cooler. There is also a dry sauna and some benches to relax. Staff were also responsive when I WhatsApp them, and they were also polite in person. Can't comment on the food as I didn't have any. Overall, it was a relaxing time spent chilling in the onsen.
