Kaorouji

One of best places we always go to ever time we visit back in China. The food goes so well with the surroundings in the Houhai park, which makes the total experience truly unparalleled to the others.

The taste of mutton is similar to what my mom makes at home. The skewers are not as good as those from less known restaurants. As a native tbh I don't see why this is labeled intangible cultural heritage.

Fantastic restaurant which specializes at grilled lamb. The signature dish is succulent and flavorful, you can never have enough of it. For RMB 198, do choose the lamb fillet which have a great fat to meat ratio. To go along with the dish, you may choose to get a few pieces of shaobing and the bull tripes. You can never go wrong with this combination. Do visit this place after lunch hour to avoid the crazy crowd.

This iconic place is located in one corner of Houhai Lake, Beijing. Here you could find some halal restaurants, cheap souvenir shops, and beautiful scenery. I prefer visiting this place for dinner

very authentic experience given my first time in beijing, you will definitely not miss it as you wander down this street as there would be lines of people getting their hands and mouths dirty while attempting to eat from the lamb skewers. The meat is succulent and flavorful and i highly recommend the lamb meat, do bath it in the chili powder for an extra oomph.
