The family and I found this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try. Service is top notch, food is flavorful, and the owner visits every table and even greeted our 2 year old. Thank you KimChi House, you are now one of our go-to places in CDMX. Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed!
The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming truly one of the highlights of the experience. He even set off fireworks with us, which made the night feel very special and memorable. The food is absolutely outstanding. Very authentic Korean flavors every dish tasted genuine and well prepared. The side dishes were excellent, especially the kimchi, which was perfectly seasoned and deeply flavorful. You can really tell care and tradition go into the cooking. The interior design isn’t the most fashionable or trendy, but it’s warm, cozy, and comforting. That said, perhaps because it was quite late, a bit more attention to cleanliness and environmental details could make it even better. Overall, a fantastic place with amazing food and a genuinely warm-hearted owner. Highly recommended.
We were excited to return, but this visit was very disappointing. Service was unreliable—some things arrived quickly, others were forgotten or took far too long. The lettuce and perilla were soggy, and we even found a worm, which suggests the vegetables are only rinsed, not properly disinfected. We informed the waiter only for it to be removed and taken back to the table 🤦♀️ Honestly, we thought long and hard about posting this, but it's a real health risk. What concerned us most was the management’s response. No real effort was made to address the issue. The only moment the owners showed interest was when we declined to leave a tip, Mr. owner got upset because we refused to it. They tried to pressure us to pay it, Mrs. owner asked us why not, we told her about the worm, then she denied knowing anything about it, but the waiter pointed out that he had informed Mr. owner about it, who clearly didn't care. The focus seemed to be on the tip rather than the health concern. Sadly, this experience changed our perception completely.
A welcoming Korean spot with a lively upstairs dining area and decent overall quality. We ordered the seafood noodles, squid stir fry, and pork intestine. The meal started strong with a generous spread of nine banchan, all refreshing and well seasoned. The seafood noodle soup was surprisingly massive (easily enough for several people!) with good flavor and texture, though the portion felt a bit overwhelming. The squid stir fry was solid and classic with great seasoning, while the pork intestine unfortunately missed the mark with a stiff, dry, and overly chewy texture. Overall, a decent Korean meal with generally enjoyable bites.
The owner here is so sweet and welcoming and the food is great. They gave very big portions. All the staff were really nice as well. There is a grocery store next store and the location is quite nice. I will definitely be coming back with friends!
