Kooriya Peace

Just as Kantaro said!! No brain freeze! And it was well worth the visit. I had the strawberry and it was absolutely fantastic. My wife tried the pistachio with strawberry - also fantastic. The surrounding neighborhood is a gem, and its 100% worth the trek from central Tokyo. Both for Kooriya Peace and Kichijoji as a whole.

I visited the store towards the end of August and had a good experience. I went on a weekday at around 1pm so there was no wait. The kakigori was great and had a very nice blend of flavors. I wanted the すいか (watermelon) flavored one but it was not available when I went. Despite this, I enjoyed the strawberry flavor. My only issue is that it seems the menu rotates daily. This is fine, but i would prefer if they posted their daily flavors online on their website or SNS account. I still would like to try the watermelon flavor, but I don’t want to risk showing up and it not being available again.

This is a popular place for Kakigori if you are visiting Kichijoji. The syrup is very thick and full of flavor. The eat-in line can be very long and the amount can be quite large for one person if you visit after a meal for dessert.

Reserved on tablecheck, but the queue outside is only 3 ish ppl so honestly maybe just queue instead of paying 500yen booking fee. The honeydew is mild and melts quickly, decent taste! The raspberry is very rich, wish there was more rare cheese on it ☺️

This is the most incredible thing I have ever had in my mouth 🤩 I had the raspberry cheese option, and the flavours were distinct and delicious. The texture was cold but not icy, if that makes sense. Definitely no hint of brain freeze. Really wish I had visited earlier in my trip so I could have had multiple visits.
