Riviera Health Spa is my favorite place in town! The spa is super clean and spacious, with multiple sauna rooms to relax in. I love that it’s co-ed in the upstairs area, so you can enjoy time with friends while wearing their comfortable spa shirts and pants. The Korean restaurant on the 2nd floor is a huge bonus—my go-to is the cold noodle, which is always so refreshing after the sauna. The 1st floor is separated for men and women, and I really enjoy going back and forth between the hot tub and cold tub—it feels amazing and so rejuvenating. This place is perfect for a relaxing day, and I always look forward to coming back!
I visited this sauna today, and it seems like many foreign visitors are unfamiliar with how a Korean-style jjimjilbang works. I saw people walking around in slippers instead of barefoot and asking if it was okay to wear bathing suits inside. Some non-koreans put their feet on a divider. How are other people supposed to lie down? I think the staff should clearly explain the rules at the entrance, especially for first-time visitors, so everyone understands the proper etiquette from the beginning. It would also help if visitors took the time to learn and follow the rules, as this is a shared space and respecting the culture is important for everyone’s comfort.
Riviera Health Spa is hands down one of the best values for the money. The entire experience was relaxing from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere is warm, peaceful, and incredibly inviting — the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable and stress-free. The body scrubs and facials were absolutely amazing and left me feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Everything felt thoughtful, clean, and designed to help you truly unwind. Honestly, I could have stayed there all day long. I enjoyed the experience so much that I’m already planning to bring my husband back in a few weeks. He deserves this level of relaxation too. Highly recommend for anyone looking to treat themselves without breaking the bank.
If you had any doubts of checking out this place, I hope this review helps you decide to go and experience this wonderful korean spa. I came here for the first time as my birthday gift and I couldn't ask for anything better. Yes, you have to be nude for certain areas but because they are gendered, everyone minds their own business. They provide you with their top and shorts and a key for your own locker. I saw some people bring their own stuff to be as comfortable as possible, such as their own lotions, brushes, and scrub gloves to scrub themselves. I experienced their full body scrub and massage and it was amazing. It included a face mask and a scalp scrub which was a pleasant surprise. They have a coed space for both men and women and a cafeteria for food. Interesting, they also have a pc room for entertainment or work.
I usually go to Spa Palace in K. Town so I was super happy when my coworker told me about Riviera Health Spa. It's a little closer drive from Long Beach and since gas it's crazy expensive, that's a win for me! The place was super clean, well organized, and labeled. I spent a few hours in the women's only area going back and forth between the hot tubs, cold plunge and wet and dry saunas. My muscles feel super happy! After I gave myself a good shower and scrub, I got dressed and made my way down to the co-ed portion. There I found a good spot to plop my mat down and work on a paper since it is finals week for me. After that I made my way to the cafeteria for some Spicy Beef Noodle soup. I was surprised at the price tag—$20 for a bowl, but the portion and especially the taste justified it—definitely ok for a once in a while treat! I ended my 6 hour spa day with sitting outside and working some more on homework before calling it quits. Overall, Riviera is such a gem. $30 for a spa pass to soak, sweat and eat your stress away, will always be worth it in my book. Can't wait to be back soon. :)
