Súper Mikasa

2025 #24 (CDMX #24; Japanese #3, Sushi #3): I had come here many times over the past few years but never bough/tried anything. Recently came here to pick up sake to accompany some sashimi we were going to pick up from elsewhere in Roma Norte. Once we arrived, we were a bit lazy and decided to just grab some sushi from here as well to get to eating sooner. For ~$100 you have a handful of choices of ~8 piece sushi from california rolls to inari to Philadelphia rolls. If you are lucky, they even have rolls topped with salmon. While it's definitely not the best sushi in the world (or even CDMX), for $100 pesos it's hard to complain. We particularly enjoy the California empanizado (10 pieces!), the inari, and the Sapporo(?) roll. They also have various fried food over rice, salads, and other one-off fried items as well. Their sake selection is decent and their prices are the cheapest I have found in the city. We come here any time we need to stock up on sake and/or are craving some cheap sushi to eat at home. Also be sure to give Fukusuke Udon downstairs a try for delicious udon (and if you enjoy it, you can buy frozen udon noodles upstairs)! As an Asian person, I’d like you to know that it’s important to gain a better understanding of Mexican culture, learn the language and avoid misinterpreting situations. I’ve been a customer at this supermarket for 20 years and have dealt with all the staff and managers, and they’ve never treated me disrespectfully. If this is your first time visiting the country, I understand why you’ve written this, but it’s best to learn about the culture of the country you’re visiting before causing offence and using such strong words as ‘racism’. Furthermore, in Mexico, you can be sued for emotional distress if you don’t have conclusive evidence to back up your claims, simply for failing to learn the language and the laws of the country you’re visiting. Be careful, Samantha, and good luck with the rest of your trip.

Extraordinary Japanese market, offering premium products imported directly from Japan. The space is impeccably organized, clean, spacious and private. The staff is highly professional, with a deep knowledge, always ready to assist with precision. At the back, a gourmet Deli section stands out as a personal favorite, delivering excellent freshness at fair prices. On sunny days, I often stop by for yakimeshi and sashimi, then head to the Plaza Luis Cabrera to enjoy a moment of calm, vitamin D, contemplation, while tasting so incredible fine dining experience...I appreciate having a place like this in Mexico City, incredible expression of Japanese gastronomy and culture, brought to life with satisfaction and quality. Love this market! Great for snacks, condiments and takeaway foods. Also great sake selection and reasonably priced. Do yourself a favor and avoid the restaurant upstairs. We tried it yesterday. The food was mid (at best) for the price and we were charged for an additional entree. The waiter refused to correct the tab when we alerted him to the mistake. Weird experience. Not great food. THE MARKET IS AMAZING THOUGH!
