What locals say
This is a Korean specialty restaurant. The place isn't big, but it offers a wide variety of dishes, including appetizers, main courses, hot pot, barbecue, full Korean dinner sets, specialty dishes, lunch specials, and cold drinks. The complimentary side dishes, such as mung bean sprouts, pickled quail eggs, seaweed strips, and potatoes, make it even more appetizing. The staff are very friendly and strive to provide excellent service, making customers feel at home. The food is also very delicious, although the miso soup is a little salty. If you want to experience the deliciousness of Korean cuisine, don't miss this restaurant.
So Hyang is such a hidden gem! We always get the stir-fry pork/jeyuk and soft tofu/soondubu soup 🤤 Flavour is on point. Just as good as the ones I’ve had in south korea. The side dishes are also good, especially the fish cake, bean sprouts, and quail eggs (not pictured). Staff are so kind. Portions are generous. Come to So Hyang if you are looking for consistent quality, comforting food, and authentic taste.
So Hyang feels like a neighborhood gem. It’s cozy and reliable, making it a great choice for a budget-conscious but high-quality dinner. If you’re looking for a spot that prioritizes flavor and value over flashy decor, this local spot delivers. It’s unpretentious, bustling, and serves up some of the most consistent Korean comfort food in the Fraser st area. We liked the seafood pancake and other classic dishes such as the banchan and bibimbap. Excellent value for the portion sizes. While it can get busy during peak hours, the service remains efficient and the food stays consistent. Overall, this spot is great if you're craving classic Korean food in an area that doesn't really have similar cuisine or other restaurants. Stopped by for dinner a few nights ago. First time eating at So Hyang, and it was pretty good. They have a decent size menu, with pretty much all the usual Korean dishes. It wasn't too busy when we went, so we managed to get a seat fairly quickly. Service is something they excelled at. The servers were on top of everything and made the dinner service feel almost like you're at home. We were seated at a booth, and it easily could fit 4 people comfortably. Overall, a very good experience.
Visited on a Friday afternoon and ordered Bossam and Combo 2. Luckily we did not have to wait in line but the place got full shortly after with guests waiting in line. Overall, the interior was clean and the service was good. The food was served quickly with great decor/display (especially the side dishes on a small elevate wooden-finish table that gives extra Korean vibes). However, the food overall was on a sweeter side. I would recommend their Bossam though where the meat was tender and went well with the sides.
