Heard of this place from a friend. Elevated and higher end KBBQ food at higher price points. I appreciated that they serve dry aged meats but felt that some of the meats such as the rib eye was nothing special. They do cook and portion everything which is a real treat. The side veggies and dishes were really fresh. We also ordered the pot rice and I felt that is was a bit underwhelming. Seating wise we're located at the front so it was a bit chilly. The one dish I would recommend is their seafood pancake, very crispy and delicious. Overall it would be a great place if you are craving higher end KBBQ for a nice little date or special occasion.
Nice, cosy, quiet restaurant. Both the service and food were excellent. I highly recommend the Hansang; it has a bit of everything. It is a great place for a romantic dinner, catching up with a few girlfriends, or taking your parents out for a special dinner. The back of the restaurant has a more intimate feel. I would say the best dining experience would be for 2-4 people! PS They also handle all the grilling to ensure that the meat is perfectly cooked!
We booked Takja for myself, my wife, and our 10-month-old daughter, and it ended up being one of our favorite Korean BBQ spots ever. A few notes for fellow parents: definitely call ahead and let them know you’re bringing a little one so they can set you up with better seating. They don’t have high chairs, so plan accordingly. The good news is the ambiance is calm and quiet, which made the whole experience much more relaxed with a baby (unless they are cranky) Now to the important part: the food. We did the hansang and it was absolutely worth it. So much food, all of it high quality, and the portions were perfectly judged so nothing went to waste. They offer a hansang with pork and other meats, or an all-beef option for $10 more per person, and we went with the all-beef upgrade. No regrets. Our server made the night. Genuinely attentive and gave us excellent recommendations throughout. We cannot recommend this place enough.
An Exceptional Anniversary Experience at Takja! My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Takja, and it was a truly delightful experience. We opted for the han-sang tasting menu, and every course was excellent. The ingredients were incredibly fresh—we were particularly impressed with the tuna and shrimp from the seafood platter. We paired this with makgeolli, and the combination perfectly complemented the flavors of the Korean alcohol. While the pork was a standard part of the menu, we chose to upgrade to the Wagyu, which did not disappoint. Every cut of meat was high quality, but the Wagyu and the galbi were our clear favorites. The side dishes were simple yet refined; I especially enjoyed pairing the jalapeño pickles with fresh vegetables for the perfect ssam. To round out the meal, the mushroom rice was delicious, and the matcha bingsoo was the perfect way to finish the course. The staff were incredibly friendly and respectful, and I really appreciated that they took note of our anniversary celebration. My only small critique is the use of plastic chopsticks. For an upscale establishment with such high-quality food and service, the plastic chopsticks felt out of place. It would be a wonderful upgrade to switch to metal or high-quality wooden chopsticks to better match the restaurant's reputation and the elegance of the dining experience.
My partner and I came to Takja to celebrate our anniversary and we are so incredibly grateful for our experience. The attention to detail is meticulously executed in order for you to truly enjoy each other’s company. Being a frequent Korean bbq goer, the timing and pace of the protein servings were attentive and perfect. I unknowingly realized this time around neither myself or my partner would do the cooking which served as a surprise to me. (I also noticed each server had on a unique ring what a nice touch!) The dishes through taste and texture were exquisite, delicate and crafted with precision. And the playlist set an intimate mood which stood out to us as well. My highlights aside from everything on the menu was definitely the shrimp skewer, A5 Waygu (add a pinch of salt and enjoy alone), and the matcha bingsoo. So much that I was transcended to my previous travels eating bingsoo elsewhere internationally. We will definitely be back again, thank you Takja team🫰🏽
