STOP! STOP RIGHT NOW, pay attention. Change your plans immediately. There aren't enough stars to describe this place. The only issue is that they are either modest or they don't care if they receive a lot of business. This place needs a better description. If you're American, it appears to be a spa. You choose a massage, you receive it, and that's it. NOOOOOO, this is so much more. Also, when I read no reservations required, my mind wondered how this could be good. Allow me to explain. This is a wellness, mind, body, soul, and REST facility. It's approximately 6 floors, and for 2800 yen, you have access to all 6 floors. The cover charge to enter is the 2800 yen. That gets you all the baths, a change of clothes, and lounge areas. There are extra charges for massages, special lounge areas, and other services. You can stay here as long as 12 hours. Staying 24 hours incurs an additional charge. They have indoor baths, outdoor baths, milk baths, and sauna rooms—all for the 2800 yen. There are sleeping cubbies, dimly lit relaxing areas, and plenty of spots to put your feet up. There are reclining chairs, thermos lounges, tv’s, free wifi and everything you need. There are areas cell phone, no cell phone, and very quiet peaceful places. The lounge and sleeping areas are so nice. There’s a gym, juice bar, restaurant with great food, and plenty of showers. On the second floor, you are completely naked. Ladies, the beauty cubbies in the locker room are fully stocked for your glam needs to return before leaving. All baths are taken naked. The sauna in the bathhouse is also naked. They have separate men’s and women’s sides, but you are fully naked. Your massages are done fully naked, with a paper thong, with optional upgrades like a body scrub. She's scrubbing everywhere that thong doesn’t cover. For my sisters and cousins, listen. Do this one or two days before you leave. The hell with those braids and your fear of wet hair. Enjoy this pampering and go home rejuvenated! There is so much to do here, and someone is always available to pamper you. The pampering is incredible. These are all the add-on services I indulged in and enjoyed every last one! Body scrub ✅ Lymphatic massage ✅ Milk bath ✅ Acupuncture ✅ Dry massage ✅ Oil massage ✅ Foot reflexology ✅ 3 tubs ✅ 3 rock beds ✅ Lunch Seafood ramen ✅ Ice tea ✅ and plenty of water. I spent 38,000 yen!! I guess I'll find out when I get home how much that visit USD, right about now, I don't care!!

Steam greets you the moment you step inside, and the city feels a world away. I tried the different baths—each with its own warmth— and felt my shoulders slowly drop. The dim lighting and mineral scent make it easy to forget you’re in the middle of Shinjuku. There’s a rooftop bath, too— soaking while looking at the city lights is something special. It’s not cheap, but for a few hours of complete reset, it’s worth every yen. Part of how I now read Shinjuku.

My husband and I had a great time here. They had a great variety of baths. Their system to pay by wristband is really easy to use throughout the facility! Restaurant, cafe, and bars are also there. I only wish there was an area with fans, AC, or generally lower temperatures to cool down.

If you land in Shinjuku at the crack of dawn straight from Haneda and realize the city isn’t fully awake yet (shops don’t open till 11am… rude), this place is your savior. Hop into the onsen, have a proper soak, and transform from “airport zombie” into “functioning human.” It’s clean, relaxing, and they’ve got you covered—towels, loungewear, the whole works. Snag discounted tickets on Kkday, because nothing says “I’ve got my life together” like saving money and bathing gloriously before lunch.

A perfect place to have a ME TIME🥰 I love Thermae-Yu and go there often. It’s super relaxing ,so comfortable that you can easily fall asleep. There are lots of bath options like silky baths, carbonated baths, an open-air bath, lying baths, and saunas. They also have face masks for ladies and the experience ends nicely with a moisturizing lotion bath. Amenities are excellent and very convenient. They provide rental wears, towels, ReFa hair dryers, straighteners and skincare products, so you can come empty-handed. There are plenty of places to relax, plus a café, a good restaurant, massage chairs and sleeping areas so it’s easy to spend hours here. Tattoos are allowed as long as they’re covered, which is a big plus. If you want a chill place to relax in Shinjuku, I definitely recommend it.
