I’m still thinking about the shaved ice!!! We got the tiramisu and melon shaved ice. The tiramisu one tasted exactly like that, and the melons tasted really fresh and sweet. SO good!! I definitely want to go back when I can to have some more.
I came yesterday and had a funky experience but gave them the benefit of the doubt. I came back today with my girlfriend and the service was a little better but the honey garlic wings I ordered was raw on the inside (medium rare steak level). They have a buy one get one drink promotion and the drinks were okay, nothing special.
Visited on 16MAR2024 Great: The decor is cool and modern. I liked the kiosk ordering system. The honey chicken wings were tasty. There are games (ex: Jenga, chess) for people to play. Good: The Korean shaved ice was good, though the ice crystals were too large. Also, it was confusing to know what to expect in the dish, so we didn't realize there were red beans in the middle, which some of my party didn't like. The brown sugar milk tea was ok; the tapioca pearls were too chewy. The Hong Kong egglette waffle was interesting. Bad: The people prepping food were very load; almost like they were hanging out instead of running a business. The music was not family friendly. The whole meal was pretty expensive.
This place Tsaocaa is definitely worth recommending! We ordered the Korean shaved ice, and the portion was huge, loaded with colorful mochi pieces, almond slices, peanut powder, and shredded coconut. With the drizzle of condensed milk on the side, the flavor was rich but not overly sweet — really well-balanced and delicious. The café itself is clean and modern, and the staff were friendly and polite. It’s the perfect spot to stop by after a meal in Chinatown — refreshing, satisfying, and super tasty. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five-star review — if you’re in Chicago’s Chinatown, this shaved ice is a must-try!
I love their Korean chicken wings!! So flavorful and crunchy!! Just tried their new drinks today, also very good!! Strawberry matcha mochi is a must try!!
