I had this before and really enjoyed it, so I decided to come back, but this time it was honestly terrible. The rice was far too soggy, and somehow liquid was leaking out of the kimbap and soaked the entire bag, even though kimbap obviously shouldn’t have liquid dripping out of it in the first place. It also tasted bad and was not edible at all — I took one bite and ended up throwing everything away. I paid $13.70 including the takeaway fee, so this was extremely disappointing.

Had such a great experience at Uptown Korea in Sydney CBD! The food was absolutely delicious, but their tteokbokki with extra cheese was on another level — so rich, chewy, and perfectly spicy. The cheese just makes it even more amazing! 🧀🔥 The vibe of the place is warm and lively, perfect for catching up with friends. What really stood out though was the staff — super friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They made the whole dining experience even better. Definitely coming back for that cheesy tteokbokki! 💕🤤

The menu leans towards easy-to-enjoy options — from chilled noodles and bibimbap to playful desserts like bingsu. Flavours are clean and well-balanced, without feeling too heavy, making it a great stop for a casual meal or dessert run. Food-wise, the cold noodles and bingsu were definite standouts — cooling, satisfying, and exactly what you’d crave in summer. Such a cute little spot! The food was delicious, the drinks were amazing, and the whole place had a great street-food vibe. The waiter was also super friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back!

Visited Uptown Korea in Burwood and tried the Matcha Haru pop-up (ending 31/1/26). The matcha was excellent — made with high-quality Shizuoka ceremonial-grade matcha and not bitter at all. The New Year limited sunrise matcha latte with mango was surprisingly good, and the hojicha chocolate latte (we chose oat milk) was creamy and comforting. Food-wise, the bibimbap had generous toppings and portions, though the sauce could be improved. The cold noodles were super refreshing, and the Korean cup bingsu was light, milky, and perfect for summer — especially the injeolmi flavour. The matcha yuzu cheesecake was nice but slightly pricey for the size. Overall, prices are very reasonable and it’s a great spot for students, quick bites, or short hangouts. Would definitely come back.
