What locals say
I went to wall mart camera in hand after watching YouTube videos. Was disappointed. Looks like a regular supermarket.
Nice place to shop, will find everything you need
I’m in Beijing, China for 13 weeks, in a language school. On my very first visit to Walmart a few days ago, their remarkably helpful, engaging staff welcomed me to Beijing as if I had been a long-lost family member. Their well maintained array of staples, fresh flowers, vegetables, meat, fish and deli areas are a feat for the eye. There are plenty of uniformed attendants ready to supplement my approximate Chinese with a few words, walk with me where the item I am looking for is located, explain away when I have a question. A manager on call immediately resolved a credit card transaction correctly. I brought home to try one of their deli dishes, Liangpi, (I learned later that this tasty translucent noodle dish originates from Xi’an, Sha’anxi Province: I had no idea what it was, and it has become one of my favorite dishes. Of course I’ll be back! It is a pleasure to shop there!
Most of the food items are written in Chinese.
